Portable Appliance Testing

Portable appliance testing services (PAT) is designed to monitor your equipment and appliances to make sure they are all working properly and they are not at risk of breaking down and causing accidents.

Portable appliance testing is an electrical safety test that helps to determine whether your appliances are safe to use or whether there is a danger of an electrical fire or other breakdown that can cause injury and make the workplace unsafe.

This helps you to be in compliance with several regulations including Electricity at Work Regulations and your company’s HSE and ISO standards and requirements. These accreditations will help to build trust between you and your clients and assure visitors and staff that you are putting their safety first.

Transportable equipment: appliances fitted with a plug and flexible power lead that can be relocated and plugged into a new position
Handheld equipment: electrical power tools and extension leads either of 110V or 240V power supply.

Electricity at Work Regulations

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 place a legal responsibility on all employers, employees and self-employed persons to comply with the provisions of the regulations and take reasonable and practicable steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of such equipment.
